The Vibrance adjustment layer improves colour in portraits but protects skin tones at the same time. The adjustment only targets the colours in need of a boost. This is opposed to Saturation, which a ffects the entire image and disregards skin tones.
- Use the Create a New Adjustment Layer icon in the Layers palette and select Vibrance.
- Gently increase the slider and stop just as you see the skin tones starting to look unnatural.
